This is the 30th anniversary edition of the publication, which has sold more than 1,4 million copies to date, making it one of South Africa’s best selling books of all time.
From the rather modest little pocket volume produced by John and Erica Platter in 1980, the book has grown into a substantial brick-sized work produced by a large team of writers, tasters and organisers under the direction of editor Philip van Zyl.
