Alex Cardno Reviews 10 Years of the Caine Prize for African Writing

October 22nd, 2009 by Ben - Editor

10 Years of the Caine Prize for African WritingVerdict: bitty carrot

Cardno calls the collection a “confident display” from African writers, singling out Henrietta Rose-Innes “Poison” and Brian Chikwava’s “Seventh Street Alchemy” for extra praise.

Oh, that's very nice! Thanks, Ben, for posting this - I hadn't seen it.
I'll be posting details of the Cape Town launch of this book, featuring myself and Mary Watson in conversation with Imraan Coovadia, shortly. It'll be in the 28th of October at the Book Lounge.

Oh no! And I'll be in the eastern Free State! Missing so many fun things, including the nostalgia thrash of the the year: the ECC 25 year-anniversary bash. But it is my folks' 50th wedding anniversary. That's pretty amazing.
